New Delhi, 4 December (H.S.): Prominent pro-social justice leaders, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, came together to advocate for important issues such as caste census, removal of 50 percent cap on reservation, and advancing women's rights.
Speaking at the All India Social Justice Mahasangh conference, MK Stalin emphasized the need to fight unitedly for social justice, secular politics, equality, and state autonomy. He also criticized the BJP for delaying the implementation of the Women's Reservation Bill and called for pending vacancies to be addressed and reservation to be introduced in judicial appointments.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren highlighted the need to oppose designs like lateral entry of officers in public service and urged for the spirit of struggle to reach every corner of society.
MP Thol Thirumavalavan stressed the importance of caste census in achieving social justice and was joined by other leaders such as DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, Trinamool Congress MP Mohima Moitra, NCP MP Fauzia Tahseen Shamad Khan, and Rajya Sabha member P Wilson.
The event was a reminder that the fight for social justice is not over and leaders must continue to work towards achieving it.
