Bongaigaon (Assam), 4 December (HS): Bongaigaon police have arrested a notorious peddler with brown sugar. Bangaigaon police said on Wednesday that based on secret information, a team led by the in-charge of Abhayapuri police post arrested the person named Sarovar Alam, a resident of Gerukabari, from Kahibari Khand-1 village. 10.27 grams of suspected brown sugar and nine hundred rupees in cash were seized from his possession.

The value of the seized brown sugar in the black market is estimated to be around ₹10 lakh. The police have registered an FIR against the arrested peddler and started investigating the case.
