31 December (H.S.): Dr. Amrita Chaurasia became the Secretary of Allahabad

Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Organization. In the election program

organized at the Convention Center of Allahabad Medical Association, Dr. Amrita

Chaurasia, Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Motilal

Nehru Medical College, was unanimously elected as Secretary Allahabad

Obstetricians and Gynaecologists organization.

Dr. Amrita Chaurasia has been

heading the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Motilal Nehru Medical

College for a long time. Under her able guidance the department has made

remarkable progress. New facilities have been introduced along with

improvements in delivery and post-operative care of patients. The department

has played a leading role by constructing HDU (High Dependency Unit) for

critical patients and upgrading modular operation theater (OT) and laparoscopy

services. Dr. Chaurasia has been an active member of many administrative

committees. Many research papers have been published in her name at national

and international level. She has successfully organized many major conferences

and workshops related to gynaecology and obstetrics in the last years.

During

the COVID-19 pandemic, a record number of deliveries (normal and through

surgery) were conducted under the direction of Dr. Chaurasia. For this she was also

honoured by the government. During this period, she successfully conducted more

than 300 normal deliveries and more than 300 surgeries. This is a proof of her

leadership ability and dedication. Apart from this, she has guided hundreds of

students and researchers and successfully completed their research work.

Commendable work has been done in providing relief to the general public by

expanding antenatal clinics, infertility clinics and other facilities. Given

the experience and leadership of Dr. Amrita Chaurasia, it is certain that the

organization will reach new heights during her tenure. Their efforts will lead

to significant progress in women's health services and will further enhance the

name and reputation of the organization.
