Guwahati, 3 December (HS): Pan Bazar police of Guwahati has arrested two drug peddlers during a joint operation with the Crime Branch. One of the peddlers is a minor. Police said on Tuesday that based on secret information, both the drug peddlers were arrested during a joint operation conducted in collaboration with the Crime Branch in the Railway Gate area.

8.18 grams of heroin kept in six small plastic vials was recovered from the arrested drug peddlers. The arrested accused have been identified as Rohit Mahato (24, Muzaffarpur, Bihar), while the other accused is a minor, who hails from Dhubri district. Police have registered an FIR in this regard under the NDPS Act and are investigating the matter.
