Hailakandi (Assam), 27 December (HS): A young man killed in a horrific road accident on the Kalinagar Katakhal bypass in Hailakandi district. This accident happened due to a head-on collision between an Alto car and a truck. The deceased youth has been identified as Rupam Rai. While two other passengers in the Alto have been seriously injured. The injured have been sent to Silchar Medical College in critical condition.

According to the information, Rupam Rai was going towards Silchar when this accident happened on the Katakhal bypass. The house of the deceased Rupam Rai is said to be in Katlichera of Hailakandi district.
