Bhubaneswar, 28 December (H.S.) The three-day National Conference on Advancements in Materials Chemistry, organised by the Orissa Chemical Society (OCS), commenced today at the Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR) in Bhubaneswar. The Minister for Science & Technology, Shri Krushna Chandra Patra, attended as the Chief Guest and emphasised that Science is Chemistry. He highlighted the urgent need for the establishment of a dedicated Institute of Chemistry in the state.

The inaugural session was further enhanced by the presence of Prof. Ajay Kumar Behera, President of the Odisha Chemical Society (OCS), and Prof. Bibhuti Bhusan Biswal, Vice Chancellor of OUTR, who served as Guests of Honour. Their insightful contributions enriched the discussions, providing valuable perspectives to the researchers, scholars, and practitioners in attendance.

The conference will continue over the next two days with a series of technical sessions and a valedictory ceremony, aiming not only to advance the frontiers of scientific inquiry but also to contribute meaningfully to societal progress.
