New Delhi, 27 December (HS): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has condoled the death of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Sitharaman has also shared a photo of Dr. Singh along with her condolence message.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has condoled the death of Manmohan Singh on 'X' post and wrote that former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is no more. He had served as RBI Governor and Finance Minister of India. Presented the milestone budget of 1991, which liberalized the Indian economy. He was respected by all, soft-spoken and gentle. Condolences to his family and friends.

It is worth mentioning that former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away on Thursday night at the age of 92. Before being Prime Minister for 10 years, Dr. Singh had also held the charge of RBI Governor, Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission and Finance Minister. He is credited with rescuing the country from a serious economic crisis through liberalisation.
