New Delhi, 27 December (HS): President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed grief over the bus accident in Bathinda, Punjab. The Prime Minister has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund to the families of each deceased.

The President posted on X and said that I am deeply saddened by the news of the death of many people in the bus accident in Bathinda, Punjab. I express my deepest condolences to all the bereaved families and pray to God that all those injured in this accident get well soon.

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a post on X and said that I am saddened by the death of people in the bus accident in Bathinda, Punjab. Condolences to those who lost their loved ones. I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured. The families of each deceased will be given an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund. The injured will be given Rs 50,000.

It is noteworthy that a bus full of passengers fell into a drain in Bathinda, Punjab. 8 people died in the accident while many are injured.
