Tamulpur (Assam), 22 December (HS): Police and the forest department have arrested three poachers in a drive in the Indo-Bhutan border area of Tamulpur district.
Police said on Sunday that the three poachers were arrested during the drive conducted in number one Deda village of the Indo-Bhutan border area in collaboration with the forest department on the basis of secret information.
The arrested poachers have been identified as Singarai Hasda, Sanu Hembram and Baburam Saren. An elephant's tusk and two handmade guns have been seized from the arrested accused. The forest department has registered an FIR in this regard and is intensively interrogating the three arrested poachers.
