Guwahati, 22 December (HS): The team of Special Task Force (STF), Assam, conducted a drive with the help of Silchar Police and arrested a vicious drug peddler with a huge quantity of drugs.

STF said on Sunday that the peddler was arrested with the huge quantity of drugs during a special operation conducted under the leadership of STF chief Dr. Parth Sarathi Mahanta and SP Cachar Nomal Mahatta on Silkuri Road in Silchar.

The arrested peddler has been identified as Sahil Ahmed Laskar (Cachar). The arrested accused was transporting narcotics. 60,000 Yaba tablets and 125 grams of heroin have been seized from the arrested accused. The estimated value of the seized drugs is estimated to be ₹20 crore. STF has registered an FIR in connection with the incident and is investigating the matter.
