New Delhi, December 22 (HS): The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed a fine of ₹2 lakh on Shubhra Ranjan IAS Study Center for advertising misleading claims about the results of UPSC CSE 2023.
In fact, Shubhra Ranjan IAS Study had claimed in its advertisement that “13 students in top 100”, “28 students in top 200” and “39 students in top 300” have studied from them in UPSC year 2023. The institute has used words like Shubhra Ranjan IAS and students of Shubhra Ranjan IAS in its advertisements and letterhead, which creates a misleading impression that Shubhra Ranjan is or was an IAS officer. In this case, the CCPA has issued an order against Shubhra Ranjan IAS Study to stop misleading advertisements with immediate effect. CCPA has also imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh on this study centre.
