Coochbehar, 19 December (H.S.)

Three children were drowned in the Dharla river on Thursday in Jorpatki Hasan Ghat area in Mathabhanga area of Cooch Behar district on Thursday.

According to local residents, three children were picking shells at the bank of Dharla river Suddenly, their feet slipped and they fell into the water. Local residents ran to save the trio. But, by then two children had died.

One child was taken to Mathabhanga Government Hospital. But the doctors declared him dead too. On information, the police of Mathabhanga police station reached the spot and started further action.
