Kohima, 11 March (HS): An attempted burglary at the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Polyclinic in Kohima has triggered an investigation. The incident took place between the night of March 10 and 11.
Situated on Raj Bhavan Road, opposite Heritage Hotel in Officers Hill, the clinic provides healthcare services to veterans of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Assam Rifles. The break-in came to light on the morning of March 11 when staff opened the facility as usual. Upon inspection, a rear window in the dental section was found broken. Two sets of footprints on a dental stool and chair suggested the presence of multiple intruders.
Authorities were alerted immediately, and a First Information Report (FIR) was filed at the South Police Station. The police have since launched an investigation.
The ECHS Polyclinic is a critical medical center for retired defense personnel and their families in Kohima and nearby areas. Officials have assured that security measures will be strengthened to prevent such incidents in the future, and efforts are on to identify and apprehend the culprits.
