Guwahati, 11 December (HS): A team of Special Task Force Assam (STF) conducted a drive in Khetri police station area of Guwahati and arrested three accused involved in fake currency business.

STF said on Wednesday that the three accused involved in fake currency business were arrested during the drive conducted under the leadership of STF's Inspector Kapil Pathak. Mafidul Islam, resident of Bihpuria of Lakhimpur, Noorjamal Islam alias Maheshwari and Abdul Kalam alias Babu of Hatkhola of Sonpur were arrested from Tegheria area of Khetri police station area.

Police have seized a car (AS-01EP-5476) and five mobile phones from the arrested accused. It is known that on November 21, police arrested an accused with a huge amount of fake currency from Kharikatia area of Sonapur.

All the arrested accused are being interrogated intensively on the basis of the FIR registered by STF.
