Sonitpur (Assam), 6 November (HS): A vehicle running on a road caught fire in the Barghat area of Sonitpur district headquarters Tezpur, causing chaos in the area.

Police said on Tuesday that a Tata AC vehicle going from Nagaon to Biswanath Charali suddenly caught fire this morning. The police and fire brigade team reached the spot as soon as they got information about the incident and controlled the fire with the help of local people.

A large part of the vehicle had burnt till the fire was extinguished. However, it is not known how the fire started. Police say that the fire must have started due to mechanical fault in the vehicle. Police are investigating the matter by registering an FIR in this regard.
