Lucknow,
29 November (HS): Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment
and Republican Party of India (Athawale) President Ramdas Athawale said on
Friday that Rahul Gandhi spreads confusion about the Constitution but the
people of Maharashtra rejected his lies. The opposition keeps raising useless
issues and does not review itself. Now Rahul Gandhi is raising questions on
EVMs.
Athawale said in a press conference at the guest house in Lucknow that
Rahul Gandhi is taking out a yatra to remove EVMs. I want to say that EVM did
not come in BJP government. If elections are held through ballot paper then we
are ready for that also. NDA will get more success in the ballot paper. If the
opposition loses in Maharashtra, it is crying foul about EVMs but if it wins in
Jharkhand, it is not saying anything on it. Modi has developed the country a
lot in the last 10 years but the opposition does not want to give him credit
for this development.
The
Union Minister said that the support base of Republican Party of India
(Athawale) is increasing rapidly in Uttar Pradesh. In the last three months,
about 50 people holding different positions in other parties have taken
membership of RPI. 26 people from Suheldev Samaj Party, 4 from Samajwadi Party
and 20 from Bahujan Samaj Party have left and joined RPI. Apart from this,
about 20,000 new people from different districts of the state have taken
membership of the party.
Athawale said that RPI (A) is going to contest the
District Panchayat elections in 2026 under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh
President Pawan Bhai Gupta. . RPI(A) is with NDA at the centre. In Uttar
Pradesh too, RPI (A) should be given representation by including it in the
alliance like Apna Dal, Nishad Party, Suheldev Samaj Party. This will bring
more seats to BJP in 2027.
