Lucknow, 10 November (HS): UP STF team arrested a
criminal who was absconding from Thane police custody in Maharashtra from
Lucknow area on Saturday. After the legal process, the criminal will be handed
over to Maharashtra Police. UP STF Additional Director General of Police (ADG)
Amitabh Yash said on Sunday that accused Prince Kailash Vishwakarma, who was
absconding from Thane police custody in Maharashtra, has been arrested from
Lucknow. He is a resident of Indiranagar, Lucknow.
Two illegal pistols have
been recovered from him. The accused had escaped from the custody of
Maharashtra Police, for whom Thane Police was searching. On interrogation,
accused Prince Kailash Vishwakarma told that he was using two pistols provided
by his friend Sajan Kumar alias Deepak, resident of Bahraich. As per
instructions, he had gone to Maharashtra by train to give delivery, where
Chitalsar Manpada police station, Thane police arrested him along with his
pistol on November 5.
On the morning of November 6, he escaped by dodging the
police and after coming to Lucknow, changed his place and was living in hiding.
He also told that his friend Sajan Kumar alias Deepak had also gone to
Maharashtra along with him by train to supply illegal pistol to a different
person, who was arrested by Police Station VP Road, Brihanmumbai Police on
November 5 along with two pistols and cartridges. The arrested accused has been
lodged in Indiranagar police station, Lucknow. Advance legal action is being
taken by Sub Inspector Pankaj Lahane of Maharashtra Police.
