Guwahati, 12 November (HS): Voting for by-elections in Dholai, Sidli, Bongaigaon, Bihali and Samaguri assembly constituencies of the state will be held on Wednesday. Voting will run from 7 am to 5 pm tomorrow.

Voters can also vote by bringing their Aadhar card, PAN card, bank or post office photo passbook, driving license, photo pension statement, official identity card etc. (any of the 12 identity cards).

The number of voters in the five constituencies are 1,96,772 in Dholai (AC), 2,17,183 in Sidli (ST), 1,82,354 in Bongaigaon, 1,32,300 in Bihali and 1,80,448 in Samaguri. Thus, there are a total of 9,09,057 voters. There are 524 service voters in Dholai, 630 in Sidli, 267 in Samaguri, 1,054 in Bongaigaon and 142 in Bihali. Thus, there are a total of 2,617 service voters.

There are 208 polling stations in Dholai, 273 in Sidli, 246 in Bongaigaon, 154 in Bihali and 197 in Samaguri. Thus, there are a total of 1,078 polling stations.

There are 1,125 disabled voters in Dholai. Whereas, there are a total of 4,197 disabled voters, including 1,770 in Sidli, 474 in Bongaigaon, 149 in Bihali and 679 in Samaguri.

There are 683 senior citizens (voters above 85 years of age) in Dholai, 1,025 in Sidli, 474 in Bongaigaon, 488 in Bihali and 1,118 in Samgudi. That means there are a total of 3,788 senior citizens.

The election process for the five constituencies in Nagaon, Bongaigaon, Biswanath, Chirang and Cachar districts has been completed and election officers and staff have left for the polling stations.
