Jammu, 6 October (H.S.):
An exhibition of paintings made on wildlife by the
students of J&K UT commenced at Jambu Zoo. Programme was organised by
Wildlife Protection Department J&K. The Himalayan Avian and Jambu Zoo
jointly. In this three-day long painting exhibition, more than 650 excellent
paintings, made recently during UT level painting competition conducted
recently in many location of the State, were displayed.
Chief Wildlife Warden Jammu and Kashmir Sarvesh Rai, who was the chief
guest, inaugurated the exhibition by cutting the ribbon. He closely observed
the art work and wildlife sense of budding artists. Chief Wildlife Warden
J&K Sarvesh Rai, while addressing the students, said that Jammu and Kashmir
is rich in wildlife. Students should try to understand the life of wildlife and
bring awareness among the society.
He appreciated students for painting works, and
praised The Himalayan Avian who has been organising such type of competition
for many years. On this occasion Deputy Director of Jambu Zoo Anil Atri was
also present . Earlier, Guldev Raj on the behalf of Himalayan Avian informed
that 1200 students from the J&K UT from 55 schools participated this year’s
wildlife painting competition. Now more than 100 of these students will be
honored with prizes in the third week of October
