New
Delhi, Oct 27 (HS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah implored Bengalis on Sunday
to vote for change in the 2026 assembly elections, claiming that peace can only
be achieved until cross-border infiltration is stopped. Shah stated that Prime
Minister Narendra Modi is committed to the development of Bengal while
inaugurating the new passenger terminal building and cargo gate 'Maitri Dwar'
at the state's Petrapole land port.
Change
in Bengal in 2026. Shah stated that we will put an end to infiltration and
ensure peace in the state. He also stated that land ports play a vital
role in bringing peace to the region. When there is no legal way for
individuals to migrate across borders, criminal forms of migration emerge,
threatening national peace. Only until the infiltration ends will there be
peace in Bengal.
Shah
believes that land ports play a vital role in enhancing connectivity and
cooperation between surrounding nations. These facilities also improve
commercial contacts between neighboring nations, he stated. Shah stated that
since the NDA took office in 2014, the prime minister has launched several
initiatives in various sectors, including health. However, Bengalis are denied
access to health-care benefits. He asserted that this deprivation will end in
2026. He criticized the TMC administration in the state for corruption. Shah
said that a large amount of the monies supplied by the Centre to West Bengal
were misappropriated owing to corruption in the state. Acche Din in West Bengal
would begin in 2026, he announced.
