Guwahati, 14 December (HS):

A moving truck caught fire on the National Highway at Jorabat on Sunday, triggering panic among motorists and causing brief disruption to traffic on the busy stretch.

According to sources, the truck was travelling from Guwahati towards Jorabat when flames suddenly erupted from the vehicle while it was in motion. The driver reportedly noticed smoke and immediately stopped the truck, averting a major mishap.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control. No casualties were reported in the incident, though the truck was partially damaged. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and further investigation is underway.----------
