Lakhimpur (Assam), 14 December (HS): Two youths lost their lives in a tragic road accident at Jonai following a head-on collision between a Maruti vehicle and a tractor, police said on Sunday.

The accident occurred when the Maruti car, reportedly moving at high speed, collided head-on with an oncoming tractor, resulting in severe damage to the vehicle. Both occupants of the car sustained critical injuries in the impact.

The deceased have been identified as Achin Pegu and Sushil Doley. They were rushed to a nearby medical facility, where doctors declared them brought dead.

Police reached the spot soon after the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. Further details are awaited.--------------
