Oct 22 (HS): The Minister of State for Backward Classes Welfare and Empowerment
of Persons with Disabilities (Independent Charge), Narendra Kashyap, presided
over a departmental review meeting at the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat on Tuesday.
During the meeting, he issued strict instructions to accelerate the
implementation of departmental schemes, resolve pending matters, and promote
schemes to ensure their reach at the grassroots level. He made it clear that
delays at any level would be unacceptable and directed officials to ensure that
every scheme reaches eligible beneficiaries on time. The minister sternly
reprimanded officials for failing to utilize allocated funds for the schemes
and instructed that the funds be used effectively and promptly to benefit the
intended recipients.
Minister
Kashyap conducted a detailed review of the ongoing schemes under the Backward
Classes Welfare Department and the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities
Department. He reviewed the reimbursement of fees for computer training
(CCC/O-level) beneficiaries and directed that the payments be transferred to
their personal bank accounts without delay. Additionally, while reviewing the
status of applications received under the marriage grant scheme for the
financial year 2024-25, the minister ordered that all applicants be paid in a
timely manner.
The
minister also paid special attention to the district-wise status of scholarship
and fee reimbursement schemes, ensuring that there should be no obstacles in
the application and payment processes. He directed that vacant departmental
positions be filled as soon as possible to ensure smooth implementation of the
schemes. Furthermore, he emphasized that information about funds allocated for
scholarships and fee reimbursement should be promptly shared with district and
divisional officials to prevent delays. Taking complaints about the
department's slow website seriously, he instructed officials to resolve the
issue immediately.
In
the review of the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, Minister
Kashyap stressed the need for extensive promotion of schemes designed for
persons with disabilities and raising awareness among them. He expressed
satisfaction with the progress of departmental construction projects and
operational schools, but ordered the completion of any pending works as soon as
possible.
The
minister also directed the establishment of mobile courts to address issues
related to persons with disabilities promptly and instructed the organization
of workshops to enhance their participation and raise awareness. Minister
Kashyap urged officials to ensure that all schemes are effectively implemented
on the ground, in line with the state government’s vision, and to work with
dedication for the welfare of persons with disabilities and the backward
classes.
