Dar es Salaam, 26 September (H.S): Satya Sai Society of Tanzania is a not-for-profit organization based in Upanga Dar es Salaam Tanzania. The Society has been a harbinger of peace and Indian culture over the last few decades. The Society was formed by a team of like-minded devotees of Satya Sai. Initially, the society was restricted to weekly meetings, Satsanghs and Spiritual discourses on weekends. This not only provided the Indian diaspora with a networking platform but also contributed to the needs of the local people.
One such initiative was the agreement with the Local government to provide mid-day meals to the Uhuru Mchanganyiko Primary School for the blind and disabled.
We have been associated with the school since 1992. Our board of trustees were of the opinion that extending a helping hand to this school, would help the students to have a balanced diet full of nutrition. The support from the local government authority for our initiative has been marvellous. While these activities bring a smile to the faces of children over here we have a sense of satisfaction from reaching out to the underprivileged.
Apart from this, the Society also distributes free food to localities each day in the afternoon at the Satya Sai Society temple premises at Upanga.
We do conduct regular Bhajans at the Sai Society premises each Sunday evening. It's heartening to see the devotees attend the sessions in large numbers and support us in all our endeavours opined Nathulal Sajnani, the President of the Society, who has been the pillar of strength to the Society's activities since its inception in 1972. We thank all the donors, volunteers and support staff in all our endeavours he concluded.
