Nagaon (Assam), 01 July (HS): Assam girl Simu is selected for the Indian Blind Cricket Team. The first blind woman Simu from Assam has qualified to play at the international level.

The news regarding the selection of a blind girl Simu Das from Kathiyatli Kachari village has created a wave of happiness in the entire area.

It may be noted that Simu had brought laurels to Assam by winning Man of the Series and Man of the Match in the blind women's cricket tournament held in Nepal in January last year. Now, in August, Simu will play for the Indian blind cricket team in England. It may be mentioned that Simu's brother is also specifically abled. Simu is a young girl from a very poor family in Kathiyatali. His mother is taking care of the family by doing door-to-door wages.

Simu has sought help and blessings from the Assam Cricket Association as well as the people of Assam.
