Imphal, June 29 (HS): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is arriving in violence-hit Manipur on Thursday. Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee president K Meghachandra said Gandhi has been sent by the AICC to take stock of the situation in Manipur.
The Congress president said that Rahul Gandhi will land at Imphal airport by a charter plane and from there he will go to Churachandpur by road where he will meet Kuki CSO leaders and others. During this time, he will meet the displaced people living in refugee camps. On their way back, they will visit various refugee camps in Bishnupur district. He will spend the night at Moirang.
On Friday morning, they will visit a refugee camp in Imphal. He will meet representatives of Maitei, Maitei-Pangal and Naga community at Hotel Imphal.
He will address the media at the Manipur Pradesh Congress headquarter before leaving for Delhi in the afternoon. From the refugee camp at Moreh, they will reach Imphal. Political analysts believe that the situation in violence-hit Manipur may worsen if Rahul Gandhi arrives to bake political bread. However, tight security arrangements have been made for Rahul Gandhi's visit.
