Ram Lalla idol to be installed at original location in Ayodhya temple in Jan '24

Lucknow, 16 Mar (HS): According to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj, the idol of Lord Ram Lalla will be placed in its original location in the third week of January 2024.

Maharaj visited Dombivli in Maharashtra to inaugurate a number of programmes. The work on Lord Ramchandra's temple in Ayodhya is progressing very quickly and well, Maharaj told reporters. “The temple's construction is currently 70% complete. We are confident that Ramlalla will be installed in his original location in the third week of January 2024, and that arrangements will be made for devotees to visit and pray on that day, he added.

Our goal is to complete work on the sanctum sanctorum, first floor, and darshan arrangements, while the rest of the temple's craftsmanship will continue, he added. On November 9, 2019, a five-judge Supreme Court bench led by then Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi ruled in favour of Ram Lalla, saying that the entire disputed land spread across 2.7 acres would be handed over to a government-formed trust that would oversee the construction of a Ram Temple on the site.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the formation of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra in February 2020 to oversee the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. PM Modi performed the Bhoomi puja for the Ram Temple on August 5, 2020.
