Guwahati, 09 August (HS): The Association of Professional Graduate Civil Engineers organised a seminar titled “Engineering Solutions to Prevent Artificial Flooding in Guwahati”, focusing on technical measures to address the city’s recurring waterlogging and artificial flood problems.

IIT Guwahati Professor Arup Kumar Sharma and Barak Valley Engineering College Professor Diganta Goswami attended the seminar as distinguished resource persons and shared their views on possible engineering interventions.

Senior consulting engineer J. N. Khatniar, eminent engineer Keshab Chandra Saikia, and drainage and sewerage specialist engineer Prashanta Kumar Gogoi were also present at the programme.

The seminar discussed engineering-based approaches for improving Guwahati’s drainage and sewerage systems and finding sustainable solutions to the city’s artificial flooding problem.---------
