Lucknow, 09 August (H.S.): Project Praveen, an

initiative launched by the Uttar Pradesh government to connect the state's

youth with future technologies like artificial intelligence, has yielded positive

results. Nearly 50,000 students participated in the state-level assessment exam

for the four-hour AI for All course offered by the Uttar Pradesh

Skill Development Mission in secondary and aided schools, achieving an

impressive average score of 70.41/100.

State Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational

Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, Kapil Dev Agarwal, said

that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is

becoming a leading state in the country in the field of skill development. The

AI course under 'Project Praveen' aims to bridge the digital divide between

rural and urban areas and equip every student with future technology. The

participation of nearly 50,000 students and their excellent performance

demonstrates the immense potential of our youth. This is a major step towards

realizing the Yogi government's pledge of 'Skilled UP - Empowered UP'. Our

government will provide opportunities for meritorious students to advance in

advanced technology and will also bring underprivileged students into the

mainstream by providing them with specialized training.

Mission Director Pulkit Khare stated that the examination

was conducted in a completely transparent and efficient manner, completing it

in a record time of five days. Question papers were confidentially sent to

districts on July 8th, the main exam was held on July 9th, and a special exam

for absent students was held on July 10th. By July 13th, the results were

evaluated in 73 districts and sent to Mission Headquarters. The results were

verified on August 8th.

More than 89% of students passed the exam, which is divided

into three categories.

Excellent Category (more than 80% marks): More than 12,500

candidates secured the 'Top' category by scoring more than 80% marks.

Competent category (50 to 80 marks): The largest category,

with over 28,000 students scoring in this category.

Special Attention Category (less than 50 marks): Only 4,819

students remained in this category, for whom special remedial classes will be

conducted.

In terms of regional performance, Western Uttar Pradesh's

18,395 students excelled with an average score of 74.3, with 37.8% of students

in the excellent category. Bundelkhand performed best in quality and

consistency, with an average score of 74.2 and the lowest percentage of

students scoring below 50 in the entire state at just 4.9%. Central UP averaged

69.7, and Purvanchal's 21 districts had an average of 64.7 for 14,387 students.

The Mission Director stated that Remedial AI

Modules will be offered to students who scored below 50%, especially

those from Purvanchal. More than 12,500 meritorious students who scored above

80% will receive specialized guidance in advanced AI, advanced coding, and

robotics. It's worth noting that Project Praveen is offering a free

210-hour skills development program for students in grades 9 to 12, teaching

job-specific skills in IT, beauty, healthcare, agriculture, and electronics.

Additionally, a separate 4-hour AI for All course is also offered.
