Master trainers from 75 districts received special training

and will lead capacity building of teachers at district and block levels: Minister

Lucknow, 09 August (H.S.): Under the leadership of Chief

Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government has achieved significant

progress in reorienting pre-primary education. By providing specialized

training to 375 ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) core group members

and master trainers from 75 districts of the state, trained educational leaders

have been prepared for kindergarten education.

Sandeep Singh said that the Yogi government's goal is to lay a strong

foundation for every child's learning from childhood. Master trainers trained

under ECCE will inject new quality into kindergarten education and bring

play-based learning to every school.

The Pre-Primary Unit of the Basic Education Department

organized seven residential training batches under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan

(Samagra Shiksha) initiative at the Deendayal Upadhyaya State Institute of

Rural Development (DDU-SIRD), Lucknow, from July 6 to 31, 2026. 375

participants from all 75 districts participated. During the training, practical

training was provided on modern principles of early childhood education,

play-based learning, child-centered activities, age-appropriate learning

processes, and the concept of a functional kindergarten. Participants also

visited government kindergarten classrooms and gained firsthand experience of

the activity-based teaching model.

These trained master trainers will now lead capacity

development for teachers at the district and block levels. This will give new

impetus to play-based, activity-based, and developmentally appropriate teaching

in kindergartens across the state and lay a strong foundation for basic

literacy and numeracy (FLN).

Additional Chief Secretary, Basic and Secondary Education,

Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma, stressed on effectively implementing the experiences

gained from the training in Balvatika classes, better coordination between ICDS

and Basic Education Department and strengthening community participation.

Meanwhile, Director General, School Education and State Project Director,

Monica Rani, directed quality training at the district and block levels,

collaborative monitoring, regular use of teaching-learning materials and

age-appropriate storybooks, and timely data management.

The Yogi government aims to make early childhood education a

strong foundation for school education. Balvatika will provide children with

opportunities to learn through play, stories, dialogue, and activities,

enhancing their language, cognitive abilities, social-emotional development,

and school readiness. This initiative will further strengthen children's smooth

school transition and quality early childhood education, in line with the

National Education Policy 2020.
