
New Delhi, 09 August (H.S.): Delhi BJP leaders, along with Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta, paid floral tributes to former Delhi BJP president and former Governor of Gujarat, Prof. Om Prakash Kohli, on the occasion of his 92nd birth anniversary at the Delhi BJP office on Sunday.
The floral tribute programme was held under the chairmanship of Delhi BJP vice-president Sunil Yadav. Lok Sabha MP Yogendra Chandolia was the first to offer floral tributes and subsequently shared memories of Prof. Om Prakash Kohli’s contributions and work with those gathered.
Along with Chandolia, former Delhi BJP presidents Manoj Tiwari, Adesh Gupta and Virendra Sachdeva, as well as party office-bearers Rajesh Bhatia, Sunil Yadav, Yogita Singh, Praveen Shankar Kapoor, Vinod Bacheti and Ranjit Kashyap, also paid floral tributes to Prof. Kohli.
Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta attended the programme and paid floral tributes to Prof. Kohli’s portrait. Recalling his association with the former BJP leader, Gupta said, “Prof. Kohli left an indelible impression on me during my student days, which continues to inspire me even today.”
Addressing the gathering after paying his respects, MP Yogendra Chandolia said that the party was observing the birth anniversary of former Delhi BJP president Prof. Kohli.
“Prof. Kohli was synonymous with the organisation. His greatest strength was his ability to connect with workers at the booth level and ensure that every worker was treated with respect. Discipline, punctuality and an unwavering commitment to principles were the core elements of his success and popularity,” Chandolia said.
He further recalled that Prof. Kohli believed in resolving differences through dialogue. “Even when there were disagreements, he sought solutions through dialogue. He regarded the organisation as a family and worked to strengthen the Delhi BJP by deepening its grassroots connect,” Chandolia said.
On the occasion, Chandolia called upon party workers to resolve to further strengthen the organisation by following the path shown by Prof. Kohli and upholding the values and principles he stood for.
