Lucknow, 09 August (H.S.): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,

while paying homage to the memories of the revolutionaries on the occasion of

completion of 101 years of Kakori train action on Sunday, said that the then

Congress leaders had committed the sin of getting the revolutionaries punished.

The Chief Minister said that the great sons of Mother India

had shaken the foundations of British rule and challenged that the land of

India would never tolerate slavery. These revolutionaries had started a long

series of struggles from the first war of independence in 1857 to the 'Quit

India' movement of 1942. The British wanted to loot the hard-earned money of

the people of India and take it to Britain, but on August 9, 1925, at this very

place, revolutionaries like Pt. Ram Prasad Bismil, Thakur Roshan Singh,

Ashfaqulla Khan, Chandrashekhar Azad, Rajendra Nath Lahiri took possession of

the treasure and gave new heights to the fight for independence.

The Chief Minister paid tribute to the bravery of the

revolutionaries: The Chief Minister mentioned the revolutionaries Sachindra

Nath Bakshi and Manmath Nath Gupta. He said they were born in Kashi and were

sentenced to life imprisonment. The British confiscated their estates.

Sachindra Nath Sanyal was also born in Kashi and breathed his last in

Gorakhpur. Pt. Ramprasad Bismil, Rajendra Nath Lahiri, Ashfaqulla Khan, and

Thakur Roshan Singh were hanged. Chandrashekhar Azad had said that Azad would

always remain free. He fought the British until his last breath and was

martyred on the soil of Prayagraj. The aim of these revolutionaries was to

liberate Mother India, break the shackles of slavery, drive the British out of

India, and liberate the country.

Those in power in independent India humiliated the

revolutionaries: The Chief Minister said that the British called the Kakori

incident a robbery, but even in independent India, those who came to power

insulted the revolutionaries in the name of the Kakori robbery. These people

downplayed the Kakori train action and the Chauri Chaura incident. When the

Chauri Chaura incident occurred in Gorakhpur in 1922, the Congress suspended

the movement and turned its back on it. Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya fought

the case of the revolutionaries in the Chauri Chaura incident.

Those who assumed power after independence committed the sin

of insulting the revolutionaries. Beyond the Kakori martyrs, no memorials were

built for Chandrashekhar Azad, Veer Savarkar, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev,

Rani Lakshmibai, the brave women Uda Devi Pasi, Avantibai, and Jhalkaribai, and

so that people would not even know their names, institutions were not named

after these revolutionaries. Conspiracies to this effect continued even after

independence.

Prime Minister Modi paid tribute to freedom fighters: The

Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to PM Modi, saying that after assuming

power in 2014, he honored the heroes of independence. The Panch Tirtha (five

pilgrimage sites) associated with Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, and the

memorials of Veer Savarkar, Ramprasad Bismil, Thakur Roshan Singh, and

Ashfaqulla Khan were expanded. He honored the revolutionaries by renaming the

Kakori incident as the Kakori Train Action.

On this occasion, booklets titled 'Vande Mataram' based on

children's paintings and 'Kakori Train Action' based on Kakori martyrs and

government records were released. Manmohan Pandey, brother of Captain Manoj

Pandey, Kamala Devi, wife of Lance Naik Kewalananda Dwivedi, and Meenachand,

mother of Rifleman Sushil Chand, were honored. Furthermore, the families of the

Kakori martyrs were also honored.

During this, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya,

Brajesh Pathak, Culture and Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh, Mayor Sushma

Kharwal, Rajya Sabha MP Brajlal, MLA Neeraj Bora, OP Srivastava, Jai Devi,

Yogesh Shukla, Legislative Council member Ramchandra Pradhan, Lalji Prasad

Nirmal etc. were present.
