
Kolkata, 07 August (H.S.) : The West Bengal government has reconstituted the West Bengal Backward Classes Commission, appointing former Calcutta High Court judge Justice Ranjit Kumar Bag as its Chairman.
The Department of Backward Classes Welfare issued a notification announcing the new composition of the Commission.
According to the official notification, retired IAS officers Naveen Prakash and Roshni Sen have been appointed as Members of the Commission. Kanchan Choudhury, a West Bengal Civil Service (Executive) officer, has been appointed as the Member-Secretary.
The Department of Backward Classes Welfare said the Commission has been reconstituted to enhance administrative efficiency and ensure the expeditious disposal of matters relating to backward classes in the state.
The newly constituted Commission will assume its responsibilities with immediate effect, the notification added.
