Lucknow, Aug 7 (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath will honour outstanding weavers on National Handloom Day, proclaimed

handlooms a living representation of India's independence, and announced the

creation of Sant Kabir Textile Park to bolster the state's artisanal ecology.

The Chief Minister honors exceptional local weavers with special

congratulations and medals in recognition of their abilities and contributions

to the rural economy.

CM Yogi's Cultural Identity: Handlooms are Uttar Pradesh's creative soul, rich

legacy, and economic backbone.

Local to Global: In order to promote an Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant

India), the goal was expanded from Vocal for Local to Local

to Global by encouraging individuals to purchase locally made Swadeshi

goods.

The state's active efforts to raise consumer awareness of the handloom and

Khadi industries were highlighted.

“Today is the day to pay homage to the rich heritage of

Uttar Pradesh and the unparalleled talents of our industrious weaver

companions. On the occasion of 'National Handloom Day,' at the event organized

in Lucknow, we will have the privilege of honoring our exemplary weaver brothers

and sisters with the 'Sant Kabir State Level Handloom Award.' At the same time,

cheques will also be distributed to the beneficiaries of the 'Chief Minister

Handloom and Powerloom Industry Development Scheme' and the 'Jhalkari Bai Kore

Handloom and Powerloom Development Scheme.' Thereafter, the

inauguration/foundation stone laying of 194 development projects worth more

than Rs. 706 crore for the all-round development of Ambedkarnagar district will

take place. Along with this, I will also distribute approval letters,

certificates, and cheques to the beneficiaries of various public welfare

schemes. The double-engine government is fully committed to building an

'Aatmanirbhar Uttar Pradesh' by providing modern resources, markets, and

respect to skilled hands,” he mentioned in a post on X.

Earlier in a post on X, he stated, “Heartiest

congratulations and best wishes to all weavers, artisans, and the people of the

state who are the torchbearers of India's rich cultural heritage and wonderful

craft traditions, and who are strengthening the resolve from 'Vocal for Local'

to 'Local to Global' on National Handloom Day. Handloom is a living symbol of

India's self-reliance, skill, creativity, and cultural identity. Let us, by

adopting Swadeshi products, further strengthen the resolve for an Aatmanirbhar

Bharat.”
