Kolkata, 07 August (H.S.) : Veteran actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty has undergone a successful hand surgery at a private hospital on EM Bypass in Kolkata and is recovering well, according to hospital sources.

Chakraborty was admitted to the hospital late on Thursday night, where a team of specialist doctors performed the procedure. Hospital officials said the surgery was successful and that the actor's condition is stable.

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari visited the hospital on Friday morning to enquire about Chakraborty's health. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, the Chief Minister said the veteran actor was doing well and that the surgery had been completed successfully.

The doctors have informed us that his condition is stable and there is no cause for concern, Adhikari said, adding that if his recovery continues as expected, Chakraborty is likely to be discharged later on Friday.

According to the Chief Minister, the actor is expected to return to his residence in New Town after discharge and will remain under medical supervision while recovering, following the advice of his doctors.

Hospital sources said Chakraborty is being closely monitored by a team of specialists following the operation. All post-operative medical parameters are reported to be normal, and his recovery has been satisfactory. Doctors have advised regular follow-up consultations and routine precautions during the rehabilitation period.

News of the veteran actor's hospitalisation had triggered concern among his fans and well-wishers. However, official confirmation that the surgery was successful and that his condition is stable has brought relief to his supporters.
