New Delhi, 07 August (H.S.): Normal life has been affected in several parts of Delhi-NCR due to heavy rainfall over the past two days, leading to waterlogging in many areas and severe traffic congestion on roads.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), from Thursday to 4 am on Friday, Safdarjung recorded 59.2 mm of rainfall, Palam received 16.9 mm, Lodhi Road recorded 60.4 mm, Ayanagar witnessed 26.2 mm, Pusa received 31.5 mm, Jafarpur recorded 25 mm, Chhatarpur received 39 mm, Janakpuri recorded 13 mm and Pushp Vihar received 42 mm of rainfall.

The IMD data further showed that between 8:30 am and 11:30 am on Friday, Palam received 7.8 mm of rainfall, Lodhi Road recorded 22.6 mm, Ayanagar witnessed 24.4 mm, Pusa received 6.0 mm, Chhatarpur recorded 40 mm and Pushp Vihar received 26.5 mm of rainfall.

The continuous downpour has resulted in water accumulation at several locations and slowed down traffic movement across parts of the national capital region.
