Guwahati, 07 August (HS): Guwahati Police carried out a series of successful operations across the city, leading to the arrest of vehicle thieves, a suspected drug peddler, and the recovery of stolen property and lost mobile phones.

In one operation, a team from Noonmati Police Station solved the theft of a Yamaha R15 motorcycle ( AS19R9826) within three hours of the complaint being lodged. Police arrested the alleged thief, Idul Ali alias Babu Boro (22) of Pathar Quarry, along with the receiver, Edilbert Skhemlon (28) of Mawsyinram in Meghalaya. The stolen motorcycle was recovered with assistance from the Meghalaya Police. Legal proceedings have been initiated.

In a separate operation, personnel from Paltan Bazar Police Station apprehended Pankaj Ray (21) of Kachari Basti during a raid at Apsara Cinema Hall. Police recovered and seized 11 vials of heroin weighing around 13 grams along with a syringe from his possession. A case has been registered and further legal action is underway.

Meanwhile, a Noonmati Police team also arrested two alleged thieves, identified as Krishna Das of Bhabanipur and Pankaj Paul of Forest Gate, after they were found in possession of a stolen LPG cylinder near the Noonmati Traffic Point. The cylinder was seized, and legal action has been initiated.

In another development, a women police team from Gorchuk Police Station recovered 12 lost mobile phones over the past few days and returned them to their rightful owners, bringing relief to the affected citizens.----------
