
Kolkata, 06 August (H.S.): The West Bengal government's Backward Classes Welfare Department has reconstituted the West Bengal Backward Classes Commission. A notification issued by the department on Thursday announced the names of the members of the newly constituted commission.
According to the official notification, Justice Ranjit Kumar Bag, a retired judge of the Calcutta High Court, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Commission.
Retired IAS officers Nabin Prakash and Roshni Sen have been appointed as members of the Commission, while Kanchan Choudhury, a West Bengal Civil Service (Executive) officer, has been named Member-Secretary.
The Backward Classes Welfare Department said the Commission has been reconstituted to strengthen administrative efficiency and ensure the expeditious disposal of matters relating to backward classes. The newly constituted Commission will assume its responsibilities with immediate effect.
