
Thiruvananthapuram, 06 August (H.S.):The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) on Thursday launched an AI-powered WhatsApp ticketing system, marking a significant step in its efforts to expand digital services and make bus ticket booking faster and more convenient for passengers.
Transport Minister C.P. John inaugurated the new service at a function held at the Symphony Hall of Hotel Mascot in Thiruvananthapuram at 11 a.m.
The AI-powered WhatsApp ticketing facility is designed to simplify the reservation process by allowing passengers to access ticketing services through the widely used messaging platform. The initiative is expected to provide commuters with a quicker and more user-friendly alternative for booking KSRTC bus tickets, while strengthening the corporation's digital service network.
The launch forms part of KSRTC's broader efforts to modernise passenger services and improve accessibility through technology. By integrating artificial intelligence with WhatsApp-based services, the corporation aims to reduce the steps involved in conventional online booking and provide passengers with easier access to travel-related services.
Several other passenger and logistics initiatives were also launched at the event.
The Transport Minister inaugurated KSRTC's 24x7 customer care toll-free service, accessible through the short number 149. The service is intended to provide round-the-clock assistance to passengers seeking information or support relating to KSRTC operations and services.
John also inaugurated the corporation's revamped courier service, aimed at improving the efficiency and reach of parcel and courier transportation through KSRTC's extensive bus network across Kerala.
As part of the programme, awards were presented to KSRTC employees who had demonstrated outstanding performance at the State level. An award was also presented to the best-performing KSRTC unit in recognition of its operational performance and service standards.
The initiatives are part of the State transport undertaking's continuing push to improve passenger convenience, customer support and logistics services while accelerating its transition towards technology-driven operations.
