Lucknow, August 06 (HS): The Uttar Pradesh government, under

the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is continuously striving to

make the state a major center of higher education and research. In this regard,

State Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyaya, at his official residence

in Lucknow, granted operational authorization (permit) to the

management of three new private universities to be established in the state. This

initiative by the Yogi government will expand higher, technical, and

agricultural education in Ghaziabad, Kanpur, and Fatehpur districts, and

provide youth with better educational opportunities in their own areas.

Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay handed over the

official operating authority letter to the Secretary/Chairman of 'Indian

Institute of Management and Engineering Society', Ghaziabad for running 'Ajay

Kumar Garg University' in Ghaziabad district, to the Secretary of 'Swami Brahmanand

Saraswati Charitable Trust', Delhi for running 'Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

International Agriculture University' in Bilhaur of Kanpur city and to the

Chairman of 'Anglo Sanskrit College', Fatehpur for running 'Thakur Yugraj Singh

University' in Fatehpur.

It is noteworthy that this approval has been issued by the

Higher Education Section-1 of the Uttar Pradesh Government under the amendment

ordinances to the Uttar Pradesh Private University Act, 2019. Under this,

notifications regarding permission to operate have been issued, including Ajay

Kumar Garg University of Ghaziabad under the Third Amendment Ordinance

(Ordinance No. 17 of 2026), Maharishi Mahesh Yogi International Agriculture

University of Kanpur under the Fourth Amendment Ordinance (Ordinance No. 18 of

2026), and Thakur Yugraj Singh University of Fatehpur under the Fifth Amendment

Ordinance (Ordinance No. 19 of 2026).

While handing over the authorization letter, the Higher

Education Minister expected the concerned institutions to provide quality, employment-oriented,

and value-based education while complying with the standards, rules, and

conditions set by the government. He said that the Yogi government is

strengthening the higher education infrastructure by encouraging private

investment in the state, so that the state's students can benefit from modern
