New Delhi, 04 August (H.S.): Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel emerged as the top performers in the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's (TRAI) assessment of mobile network quality on the Ahmedabad–Gandhidham railway route in Gujarat Licensed Service Area (LSA), conducted in June.

TRAI said the drive test evaluated key network performance parameters, including coverage, call drop rate, call setup success rate, data download speed, and upload speed. The assessment was carried out on June 30 along the nearly 300-kilometre railway corridor between Ahmedabad and Gandhidham, covering stations such as Viramgam Junction, Dhrangadhra Junction, Halvad, Samakhiali Junction, and Bhachau.

According to the report, Airtel recorded 909 weak signal samples in terms of coverage gaps, while BSNL registered 3,904, Jio 361, and Vodafone Idea 522 weak signal samples.

In terms of call drop rate, Airtel, Jio, and Vodafone Idea recorded zero call drops during the assessment, whereas BSNL recorded seven call drops.

Jio topped the data download speed category with an average speed of 134.73 Mbps. Airtel recorded an average download speed of 64.47 Mbps, followed by Vodafone Idea at 23.44 Mbps and BSNL at 18.52 Mbps.

For data upload speed, Jio again led the rankings with an average speed of 14.93 Mbps. Airtel recorded 13.32 Mbps, Vodafone Idea 11.48 Mbps, and BSNL 7.64 Mbps.
