New Delhi, 04 August (H.S.): The Lok Sabha on Tuesday passed the Appropriation (No. 3) Bill, 2026 by a voice vote amid continuous protests and sloganeering by Opposition members. Following the passage of the Bill, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned until Thursday, August 5, at 11:00 a.m.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduced the ‘Appropriation (No. 3) Bill, 2026’ in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. Despite Opposition MPs raising slogans in the House, the Bill was taken up for consideration and subsequently approved through a voice vote.

Soon after the passage of the Bill, presiding officer Dilip Saikia adjourned the proceedings of the House for the day.

The Bill passed by the Lok Sabha seeks to authorise the withdrawal of funds from the Consolidated Fund of India to meet the excess expenditure incurred on certain services beyond the approved allocations during the financial year 2022-23, which ended on March 31, 2023.
