
Guwahati, 01 August (HS): Industrialist Gautam Adani has donated ₹11 crore to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund to support people affected by the devastating floods in the state, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Saturday.
Sharing the information on social media, the Chief Minister said he came to know about the contribution unexpectedly. He praised Adani for quietly extending support without seeking publicity and said the industrialist had also worked behind the scenes to ensure timely assistance reached thousands of flood-affected families through various means.
Sarma said Adani, who has shown confidence in Assam by investing in the state's development, has once again demonstrated responsibility and compassion towards the people during this difficult period.
Expressing gratitude, the Chief Minister said contributions to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund continue to pour in from different sections of society. He assured that every donation would be utilised with complete transparency, honesty and accountability to help rebuild the lives of those affected by the floods.---------------
