Bhubaneswar, 08 July (H.S.): The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate on Wednesday issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan's visit to the Odisha capital on July 10, with temporary traffic restrictions to be enforced on key roads to facilitate the smooth movement of the VVIP convoy.

The advisory has been issued as part of elaborate security arrangements for the Vice President's scheduled engagements in Bhubaneswar. The Commissionerate Police has appealed to commuters to avoid the affected routes during the notified hours and use alternative roads to minimise inconvenience.

According to the advisory, vehicular movement will be regulated in phases along the route connecting Biju Patnaik International Airport, Lok Bhavan, Jaydev Vihar, NH-16, the Khordha Bypass and the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER).

Traffic restrictions will remain in force from 10:25 am to 10:45 am, 12:25 pm to 12:40 pm, 1:40 pm to 2:30 pm, and 3:55 pm to 5:25 pm. During these periods, traffic movement will be regulated at several major intersections, including Airport Square, Hospital Square, AG Square, Lok Bhavan Square, Gopabandhu Square, OUAT Square, Power House Square, 120 Battalion Square, Sastri Nagar Square, Behera Sahi Square, Jaydev Vihar, NH-16, Khordha Bypass Service Road, Carmel School Square, Kholadwar Square, Padanpur Square, and NISER.

The Commissionerate Police has advised motorists to plan their journeys in advance, keep additional travel time in hand, and strictly follow the directions of traffic personnel deployed at various locations. The restrictions are temporary and have been imposed solely to ensure the safe and seamless movement of the Vice President's convoy while maintaining orderly traffic flow across the city.

The advisory will not apply to emergency service vehicles, including ambulances and fire tenders. The Commissionerate Police has appealed to residents and commuters to cooperate with the traffic arrangements and comply with the advisory to ensure smooth movement across the city during the VVIP visit.
