Guwahati, 08 July (HS): Assam Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pijush Hazarika on Wednesday told the Assembly that the alleged demand for ₹110 per household in Uriamghat was the act of two identified miscreants and should not be linked to the Naga community or the Nagaland government.
He said the accused, who allegedly issued letters in the name of NSCN/GPRN (Nikki), are absconding, while police and security forces have intensified search operations. The minister added that no money was collected from villagers, the border situation remains peaceful, and strict legal action will be taken against those responsible.-----------
