Kerala to launch public portal to track progress of 100- day govt programme
VD Satheeshan

Thiruvananthapuram, 08 July (H.S.):Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan has announced that the state government will launch a public online portal to monitor the implementation of its 100-day action programme, allowing citizens to track the progress of projects undertaken by every department in real time.

The Chief Minister said the initiative is aimed at ensuring greater transparency, accountability and timely completion of government projects. The portal will provide detailed information on the targets set by each department under the 100-day programme, the status of implementation, and the extent of progress achieved. Members of the public will be able to access the information and independently monitor the government's performance.

To ensure effective coordination and close monitoring, the government has established a dedicated Programme Management Coordination mechanism within both the Chief Minister's Office and the Office of the Chief Secretary. These units will oversee implementation, review progress regularly and help departments resolve bottlenecks that could delay projects.

Satheesan said he had already held detailed discussions with all 19 ministers and their respective departments to finalise the implementation strategy. Senior officials from various departments have been assigned specific responsibilities to ensure that projects are executed within the stipulated timeframe.

The government has also introduced a colour-coded monitoring system to provide a clear picture of each project's progress. Projects that have been fully completed or achieved more than 80 per cent of their targets will be marked in green. Those with implementation levels between 50 and 70 per cent will be classified under orange, while projects where work has either not begun or has made negligible progress will be marked in red.

The Chief Minister said the monitoring mechanism is designed to keep the implementation process under continuous public and media scrutiny, reinforcing the government's commitment to transparency and efficient governance. He expressed confidence that the system would improve execution, encourage timely completion of projects and strengthen public trust in the administration.
