
Nagpur, 08 July (HS): The third meeting of Transport Ministers of BRICS
countries will be held in Nagpur from July 11 and 12. Besides ministers senior
officers of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa will participate to
discuss issues related to sustainable transport, basic structure, development
and global communication system.
India as the Chairman 2026 is hosting the meeting with the theme of ‘Flexibility,
Innovation, Cooperation and Stability’. The meeting will be chaired by Union
Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.
The meeting is a step to strengthen communication and transport systems
between the member countries. The existing system and future plan for
improvement will be discussed during the meeting, with reference to changes in
global transport system.
Aviation fuel, urban development and progress, logistics chain, reducing
carbon emission, use of Artificial Intelligence technology, extended BRICS
family which include Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and UAE
besides the five members will be discussed. These members represent almost half
of the global economy.
