Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday spoke with the Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, and Kerala to review the situation arising from heavy rainfall in their respective states. He assured the affected states and Union Territory of the Central Government's full support and all possible assistance in dealing with the crisis.

During the telephonic conversations, the Home Minister reviewed the impact of continuous heavy rainfall, flood-like conditions and the ongoing relief and rescue operations. He urged the state governments to accord the highest priority to the safety of affected residents, as well as to relief, rescue and rehabilitation efforts.

Shah assured the Chief Ministers that the Central Government stands firmly with the states and the Union Territory during this challenging period and will extend every possible assistance whenever required. He also directed officials to maintain close coordination with the respective state governments and ensure all necessary support for relief and rescue operations.

Heavy rainfall has disrupted normal life in several parts of the country, with local administrations actively engaged in relief and emergency response measures. The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation and remains prepared to provide all necessary assistance.
