Prayagraj, 05 July (HS): The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh
(RSS), Prayagraj South Division, organized a grand Surya Namaskar competition
on Sunday at Jwala Devi Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College, Civil Lines,
Prayagraj. A large number of volunteers in Prayagraj South participated
enthusiastically, displaying impressive discipline, coordination, and unity. With
complete discipline, uniformity, and collective coordination, the volunteers
performed all ten positions of Surya Namaskar in a captivating manner,
accompanied by the rhythmic sound of the strikes on Pranava. The volunteers'
remarkable uniformity, rhythm, and coordinated presentation of each step
particularly impressed the crowd present.
Speaking on this occasion, Sunil Ji, co-provincial pracharak
of Kashi Province, said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh regularly
organizes such programs, whose purpose is to promote the physical,
intellectual, and moral development of volunteers, as well as to foster
enthusiasm, discipline, and organizational spirit in them. He added that the
Surya Namaskar competition is also an important means of achieving this
objective, through which volunteers develop health, self-confidence,
discipline, and a spirit of competition.
He said that sun worship and Surya Namaskar have held
special significance since Vedic times. In the Vedas and Indian culture, the
sun is considered the foundation of life, energy, and consciousness. When Lord
Rama was setting out to conquer Lanka, Maharishi Agastya taught him the Aditya Hridaya
Stotra. Through Surya Namaskar, we express our reverence, gratitude, and
respect for Lord Bhaskar and pledge to imbibe his ideals of brilliance, energy,
and a healthy life.
