New Delhi, 04 July (H.S.): Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan on Saturday submitted his duly filled Enumeration Form at the Vice President's House as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. On the occasion, he appealed to all eligible voters to actively participate in the exercise and extend their full cooperation to the Election Commission.

According to the Vice President's Secretariat, a team led by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi, along with the District Election Officer (DEO), Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) and Booth Level Officers (BLOs), visited the Vice President's House to complete the enumeration process. The exercise forms part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of the electoral rolls being conducted in Delhi.

In a video message posted on social media platform X, Vice President Radhakrishnan said the Election Commission's initiative is an important step towards strengthening India's democracy. He stated that the objective of the exercise is not to weaken democracy but to make the electoral rolls more accurate, transparent and credible.

He said every genuine and eligible voter should be registered in the electoral rolls. At the same time, duplicate entries, where the same individual is registered at more than one location, should be eliminated. He also stressed that the names of deceased voters should be removed so that the electoral rolls remain fully updated and free from errors.

The Vice President said that in a vibrant democracy like India, accurate electoral rolls are essential for ensuring free, fair and credible elections. He urged all citizens to coordinate and cooperate with the Election Commission, emphasising that every eligible citizen has the right to ensure his or her name is included in the electoral rolls. He appealed to citizens to correctly fill the required forms and follow the prescribed procedure so that India's democratic system becomes even stronger.
